About Us

The Cumbria Theological Society was founded in 1992 as an ecumenical organisation with the aim of hosting five or six lectures or seminars each year.

The purpose of the Society is to stimulate theological reflection— among both lay and ordained Christians—and explore its practical implications for the mission of the churches. It is run by a small steering group, with representatives from the Anglican, Methodist, Roman Catholic and URC churches.

Lectures are open to all and are funded by voluntary donations.
